I got a text from my friend Jennifer the other day saying ‘Euan’ William was here.  I thought YEA! Then went wait how do pronounce that?  Cody and I had a debate and decided it had to be like Uan.  A few days later I went to visit Jen and ‘Euan’ at home.  I was about to ask how do you pronounce his name, when Jen says ‘don’t text an hour after giving birth.  That’s how you miss spell your sons name.’  We both had a good laugh at that.  Nice Jen, that’s what your hubby should be doing!

We’ll be doing a whole family session shortly but I wanted to share a little from his birth announcement shoot.   I don’t get the chance to do newborn photography to often, but it’s such a blessing.  And mommy and daddy couldn’t be prouder of their beautiful little guy!  I can’t wait to watch him grow up!

I think I’ve gotten more out of this group of girls then I could have ever imagined.  They are so wonderful and full of life!  Muna and Fray are two more high school seniors from Girls Inc.  I’ve just been so impressed and honored to hangout with these girls.  I’m really good at starting projects, but have a hard time continuing the project very long, ie People project.  But this project and working with these girls has been the BEST project I’ve ever had.  Just amazing young women.

I meet with the Yahaya family a few weeks ago to do a family portrait session since their daughter was turning one.  I love kids at this age.  Their personalities are really starting to surface and they are so curious of everything.  Sefra was very quiet when I first arrived, not really sure what I was all about.  But after a little while she decided that maybe I was alright.

LOVE Sefra’s Dad’s expression!

Probably not the picture you would hang on your wall, but I think it’s pretty cute.

Denver Girls Inc Seniors

April 4, 2010

Among other things I volunteer at Girls Inc here in Denver.  If you haven’t heard of them check out the website, it’s a fantastic organization that has 100% of my support.  The tag line is Strong Smart and Bold.  I love that.  The girls I’ve met there are absolutely awesome!  They are all strong, and know what they want out of life.  They’re going for their dreams with everything they’ve got.  How many teenagers do you know like that?

I’ll be the first to admit, I’m not easily impressed by most young people.  But when I met this group of senior girls, I knew I had to do something special for them.  So I decided we’d go out and do a fun photo shoot and then put it all into a book with notes from the girls themselves.  Needless to say they loved the idea and we were off!  First up were Isioma and Dulce.  Who I have to say totally rocked it!  I love that we didn’t do a ‘typical’ senior portrait session.  (I have to say I’m not a fan of that, which is probably why I typically don’t do seniors)  We just went out and had a TON of fun.  My kinda session.

Aren’t they gorgeous ladies!  I just adore all of them.  And we still have another photo shoot to go!  Can’t wait!

So why not do it in style!  Bouncing gym, pinata, cake, balloons and more sugar then a cotton candy stand!  And how can you forget you best pals!?  And Max was dressed to impress too!  LOVE the cute little sweater and jeans.  A little heart breaker he is!
