Things are moving along in your wedding planning. You’ve met with a couple photographers and narrowed your decision down to two people. Now what? Sometimes it’s an easy clear decision who you should hire, and sometimes it’s really hard. It’s such a big decision how do you know you’ve made the right decision?

1. Do you still love visiting their site? Even after seen it a dozen times. Have you already become an avid reader of their blog?

2. Did you talk more about life and other things in your meeting? Not necessarily a deal breaker, but a really good gauge to how much you like each other.

3. Who do you see spending your wedding day with. Kinda of a gut feeling, but can really help in deciding.

If you answered yes to these three things then you’re well on your way to knowing which photographer is right for you. I’m a strong believer in personal connections. When my client gets excited about their photos it gets me excited and gives me even more motivation to work my butt off.

So if you love a photographer’s work and them let them know it! I’m sure they’ll be just as excited to be working with you.

Next up….Time line and leaving time for photos.

Everyone wants a unique and special wedding that represents them. But deciding what to incorporate and what not to is difficult. What represents you and your future spouse?

How important are some of the traditional things to you?
Consider which traditions you want to keep and which ones you maybe want to throw a new twist on, or not do at all. Instead of cake, you can incorporate a dessert you both love, cheese cake anyone? Colorado has such great outdoor ceremony sites, you can design your ceremony any way you want. Instead of having everyone facing the same way, why not have everyone in a circle around you? Use your imagination and your venue to your advantage.

What do you love to do together?
Is there a place or an activity that just sums up you two as a couple? If you love to rock climb, add in details that show that. Or maybe you love to ski, and having your wedding at a mountain ski resort would be perfect. With details of old skis and winter log feel.

How did you meet?
Did you meet at the farmers market, then add in touches of natural and locally grown ideas. The flowers, or colors can represent that. Or maybe you met on a blind date and could incorporate a theme of ‘love is blind.’

Where are you from?
Maybe you’re from here, but most of your guests are coming from other areas. Incorporate Colorado inspired ideas. Give your guests a taste of where you live.

Do you travel?
Incorporate places you’ve been to or hope to go someday. Throw a vintage twist on it with vintage luggage and old maps. Destinations abound!
