Breastfeeding is hard mama.
There are a million times that motherhood has stretched me and challenged me to the point of wanting to give up. Breastfeeding both of my kids has been one of those times.
The first week was marred with cracked and bleeding nipples. Then once my nipples had healed, I would struggle with clogged ducts. And let’s not even start on how it affected my hormones and emotions. Breastfeeding tested me.
But I always fought back and carried on. Because of love. Love for my babies. And maybe a little bit of my fierce determination.
The funny thing is when I think about breastfeeding them now that we’re done, I miss it.
I miss the quiet moments. I miss the sweet connection while they played with my skin and hair. I miss holding them so close.
Breastfeeding is sacred. It should be celebrated and cherished. It’s normal and beautiful. The photos I have breastfeeding them are some of my favorite. It’s such a short season of life, but it’s one I will cherish and forever feel grateful that I could breastfeed them as long as I did.
So when I heard there is an entire festival for breastfeeding, I signed up to be apart of it without hesitation. You need all the support and community during your breastfeeding journey.
So if you’re a breastfeeding mama, you need to come to the Colorado Breastival on August 20th! It’s the largest free event for breastfeeding families. Their mission is to spread awareness and support for breastfeeding families.
I’ll be doing breastfeeding portraits in my booth throughout the entire event. You can register for a slot; Portraits are $15 if you pre-register and $20 the day of the event.
You’ll receive one digital file emailed to you after the event.
