Are you missing something?
I bet you’ve read all the books. Bought at least a small fortune in baby gear. Gone to most if not all your birthing classes.
But have you remembered to slow down and take any pictures of your growing belly?
You’re growing a human that wiggles, hiccups, and jabs you in the ribs on a daily basis. Those little wonders will be replaced by a squishy newborn very soon. (I promise you won’t be pregnant forever)
If you’re like me you probably don’t feel overly gorgeous while pregnant, mostly just uncomfortable and huge.
But once your baby is here in your arms, there will be a little piece of you that will miss the kicks and hiccups. You’ll miss the tight belly that you can proudly show off without wanting to hide.
I also know how crazy busy you can feel leading up to having a baby (I’ve had two!). There are so many things to take care and coordinate and manage before you’re consumed with caring for a newborn.
So slowing down to enjoy and marvel at what your amazing and strong body can do is important. Take time to focus on your baby whether they are in your arms or still in your belly. Take time to imagine holding them and studying every tiny detail of their perfect body. Take time to breathe in this chapter before it’s only a memory.
That’s why I’m so excited to partner with Baby & Co to raise awareness for #bumpday and offer Mini Maternity Sessions. This is time for you and your strong love for the baby you’re growing.
#bumpday was started by bumpday.org. They are working to build support, resources, and education to mothers in the developing world.
Wednesday, September 13th is national #BumpDay. Baby & Co (a local birthing center in Denver) and I have partnered to offer mini maternity sessions to help raise awareness and money for BumpDay.org’s cause. For every session, I’ll be donating $20 to the organization.
If you’re an expecting mama, this is an amazing opportunity to not only document your bump but help mamas all over the world.
