“If I ever go looking for my heart’s desire again, I won’t look any further than my own back yard. Because if it isn’t there, I never really lost it to begin with.”
-L.Frank Baum

Home is a scared space that wraps it’s arms around us every time we enter through the door.  We instantly feel comfortable and relaxed especially after a long trip away from our familiar and beloved.  We go to great lengths to create a space that speaks to us, that shows those that visit a little about us.  What we love, what we hold dear, and what we hope for in the future.  For me being surrounded by photos brings peace.  I imagine when I’m a great grandma being surrounded by decades of photos.  Moments that bring me back to when my own kids were little.  Moments that bring joy and instantly grateful for such a blessed life.  I will be the lady with book shelves 10 feet high devoted to nothing but family photo albums.  My walls will be covered in stories of a life lived on purpose and with passion.

I’ve been slowly adding photos of our life to the walls of our home since we moved in.  Simple and mostly DIY and what I have on hand type art.  I’d love to share my projects with you and show you photos can be art in a simple way.  They can be part of your soul just like the memories themselves.

One trip to Ikea and I had my idea.  A pack of cork board cirles, Velcro command strips, and my favorite 5×5 prints from Artifact Uprising.  With baby #2 on the way, I’m adding more circles  just so I don’t have to take down some of my favorites of D as a little babe.

The ‘We are so good together’ is from Shanna Murray
