Capture Your Every Day Workshop

Learn to take better pictures no matter what camera you use.

Taking pictures of your kids ought to be fun and joyful.

Learn how to rid yourself of blurry, out of focus, and dark pictures of your kids. And how you can create a story book of your own pictures easily

Imagine picking your camera up with confidence & speed. Imagine that you have tips & tricks set up that allow you to spend less time fumbling with your camera and more time:
  • enjoying the moment
  • taking great pictures.
  • slow life down
  • remembering this sweet chapter of life
And imagine you’re so confident with your camera that…
  • Your kids actually like having their picture taken
  • you have albums and pictures on the wall to enjoy for decades to come
  • The joy of motherhood is written all over your pictures & your smile.

The next workshop will be SUNDAY APRIL 8th, 2018 from 2:30-5:30pm.  The workshop will be at Lexis Krieg’s home in Englewood, CO. She is a follow awesome mom who loves taking pictures of her adorable 2 year old.

Lexis came to the workshop struggling to get a non-orange and non-cheesy picture of her little girl.  After the workshop she felt confident in how to set her camera up and what to look for when taking a picture.  Her improvements from one workshop show the incredible power of understanding and knowing a few tricks.

Capture Your Day is a 3-hr class that will teach you the basics of creating beautiful photos. You’ll leave the class more confident using your DSLR, or even your camera phone. A little art, a little science, and some much-needed pointers on the ins and outs of your camera, and you’re on your way. There will even be time to shoot together, and a private group for on-going support and inspiration after the class is over.

What this 3-hour Workshop is about:

  • Easy-to-implement-today topics such as light, composition, seeing photo opportunities, and discovering the things you want to capture
  • Basic Gear – what’s out there, what’s affordable
  • Why shoot in manual mode? Making sense of the exposure triangle: Shutter, Aperture, and ISO
  • Overcoming ‘But my kid won’t let me take their photo!’ so you can take candid photos that evoke memories and tell a story.
  • Basic composition and how to tell a story with your camera
  • Approx 30 minutes of shooting practice and Q & A
  • 8-10 attendees max to allow for ample time for each individual. This class is paired best with your bestie & a glass of wine. If this date doesn’t work for you, consider hosting your own workshop with me and earn your seat for free. Email rachael@rachaelgracephotography.com to find out how.
  • Fun! We’ll laugh, you’ll learn, and most importantly, you’ll walk away with a better understanding of how to photograph those everyday memories of your family.

What this class isn’t:

  • This workshop is not about the business end of photography or how to start your photography business. But if you’re interested in that, ask about my mentoring opportunities.
  • This workshop does not cover post-processing techniques. I’ll be hosting a “Watch Me Edit” session down the road, and offer 1:1 mentoring for editing help.
  • This workshop doesn’t cover posing or prop/backdrop set ups. I shoot very candid, documentary story-telling images, so that is what’s taught.

Take Home:

  • Useful tip sheets
  • New friendships with other parents who want to shoot better photos of their families
  • Invitation to private Facebook group for Workshop Attendees for support, questions, & to post photos showing off what you’ve learned!
  • BONUS MATERIAL: 3-Week Photography Challenge where I critique your images and give you feedback to keep improving ($250 value)

If I have a Sony Mirrorless Camera, would I benefit from this class and would I be able to attend?

    Thank you,
    Julie

Absolutely you’d benefit and I’d love to have you there. Be sure to bring your manual with you. We’ll go over some of the technical stuff, but mostly it’s about the picture it self and story behind that’s important. Hope to see you there!

Thank you for a great workshop, Rachael! I really enjoyed hearing the information a second time. I think a lot more information sunk in, as I have had a chance to play with my camera since the last workshop. I was nervous about hosting a workshop, but I think it went swimmingly. Everyone seemed really engaged, and excited about photography.

I highly recommend this workshop to anyone who wants to use their camera better and take better photos of their precious kiddos!

    Thank you, Rachael! 🙂

Will you be offering other dates this summer?

  • Rachael Grace Photography March 29, 2018

There isn’t anything on the calendar right now. But you can host one yourself too. You get lots of perks, it’s free for you and you could earn a full family session free. email me rachael@rachaelgracephotography.com if you’d like to talk more about possibly hosting.
