The Tangible

album-001 album-003 album-005I’ve been searching for the better part of 3 years for an album that makes me scream YES that’s the kind of album I want my clients to have.  I’m a firm believer that less is more.  And treading lightly on this earth is something we all need to embrace more of.  Now I can say that the album I offer to my beautiful clients not only uses recycled paper but it’s also sustainably responsible in it’s printing practices.
The boxes are made from beetle kill from right here in the Rockies.  And the best part is how many photos you have in a single album.  Instead of trying to choose a meager 40 images, you can now have 200 images in the album!  Amazing I know.
I can’t wait to order the first one for 2013.  A treasure for a lifetime.

Happy Valentines Day

valentines dayGive a special hug and kiss to all the special people in your life today.  I don’t think you need a date to spread the love this Valentine’s Day.  All you need is your beautiful soul and to share your light and love with those around you.

And we wait….

polaroid-03We are now less then a week away from meeting our first born.  A week.  It still feels unbelievable and crazy to think we’re going to be parents.  We’re going to have one of those pooping, crying, adorable tiny human beings.

‘I look in the mirror through the eyes of a child that was me.’
-Judy Collins.

Something has shifted.  Shifted inside my heart and soul.  I want to bring this tiny one into a world surround by love.  Give him/her the guidance needed to run wild and free in a world that is not always easy.  Teach them to to embrace their creative spirit and never question that inner voice.  It’s there to guide them.  I pray they grow up not caring what others think of them.
That they are free to be themselves.
So we wait with as much patience as we can muster for our stubborn first born.  Knowing that in just a short time we will be parents and starting an amazing journey.  A journey that my heart and soul knows it’s ready for.maternity photos08

I had so much fun that day and wouldn’t have changed a thing.

And thank you to all my clients for your patience with me these last few months.  I’m so excited for a 2013 wedding season filled with truly AMAZING clients.

You Must.

snow-001You must do the thing you think you cannot do.
- Eleanor Roosevelt

All thing are made new again thru the winter when everything seems dead and brown.  They will grow and spring new life once again.  Even after being buried under a blanket of white and cold.
I don’t think I could ever live in a place for very long that didn’t have seasons.  There’s something about the changing of seasons that always gives a fresh perspective on life.  It snowed yesterday finally, just in time for what I had dreamed about.  Beautiful white for my maternity photos.  I can’t wait to share a few photos, Meghan and Jill were amazing!  The gratitude for these ladies is huge. Life is sweet when you’re surrounded by beautiful souls.

Snuggle in and give your loved ones a little extra love today.

Every year.

nepal2-001I promised myself.
Every year.
I will apply for a grant.
Since I returned from Nepal a little over a year ago, I can’t stop thinking about doing more trips like it.  To use my photography to bring good to others.  So I made a promise to apply for a grant every year.  This year it’s the Alexia grant.  And my project is the people that live on the Pine Ridge Reservation.  After watching this video, I knew without a doubt that I wanted to focus on poverty close to home.
Maybe just maybe…

Life is just to short not to dream big dreams.
