They wrapped their arms around one another in a moment so surreal.  They were husband and wife.  The feeling of awe and excitement rushed over them like a warm embrace on a cold winters night
A moment captured with nostalgia and beauty.  A timeless moment captured on Holga film.I shoot Holga film for moments like these.  Moments where it feels like time has stopped.  it’s just the two of you and nothing else matters.  There’s just nothing like Holga film; digital doesn’t come close not even 35mm film.  It captures the moment in such a way that only it can.  They are real moments captured with grace and love.
I shoot Holga film because it’s imperfect in a world that tries so hard to be perfect.  I shoot Holga because it’s simple.

I shoot Holga film because people say it can’t be used in the professional setting, I say it can.  I shoot Holga film because it’s part of my heart and soul.

On a personal note; I am putting my money where my mouth is and working my ass off to bring a level of service and uniqueness that only I can deliver.  It’s going to be a rock’n wedding season this year!

Handmade Details

A personal touch.  An essences of who you are.  A reflection of what you hold dear.
As I’m prepping for a wedding, I think about all the usual details, do I have all my gear, are the batteries charged, does my car have gas?  But once the nitty gritty is checked off twice, I start getting the butterfly giddiness.  The giddiness of what’s ahead and waiting for me.  Talking about all the details and seeing what my couples are pinning on Pinterest I know that the details are going to be unforgettable!  I know the details will reflect who they are and what they hold dear to them.  I love the details.  They round out the wedding and put the final touch on what you’ve created for the day.  Can you have a wedding without details?  Of couse, but what better way to show off who you are?  To tap into your creative genius? (and yes we all have a creative genius!)
Stacey used lace and old book pages to wrap around votive candle holders.  Just a simple way of using material to enhance the atmosphere.

What crafty projects are you planning for you wedding?  I’d love to hear about them!

Spring Romance

The new leaves just starting to pop swayed in the breeze as I turned the corner and spotted Jill and Robyn.  Giddy with excitement and unloading their cars with all our goodies, I couldn’t help feel blessed for such as awesome friends.  To come together with a common vision for a spring inspiration shoot isn’t easy.  Each person comes to the table with differing ideas, but for the three of us, well we just clicked.  And when we brought on board Frills Cake Shop and Little Green Chair Seth & Holly, our shoot was sure to be amazing.  And it totally was!  We spent hours prepping the different areas, dressing Holly and Seth and making sure even the smallest detail was taken care of.
Can I spend hours with a couple shooting them?  Oh Hell Yea I can!  The feeling of no pressure to be done or move on the next thing was liberating!  I wish I could pass that on to my couples.  Slow things down a bit and not rush through from engagement to engagement during a wedding.I’m absolutely in love with Jill’s two tier cake stand…just stunning with Frills cake!

BareRoot Flora blew me out of the water with the flowers.  I knew they were good, but whoa! Stunning.

So much gratitude for all the hard work of the team.  We rocked it!  And I couldn’t be prouder of how it turned out!

The beautiful talent:
Flowers:  Bareroot Flora, Robyn and Diana
Styling:  Common Couture, Jill
Cake:  Frills Cake Shop, Anne and Jeremy
Graphic Design and Models:  Little Green Chair, Holly and Seth
Vintage car: Private owner

Couple’s Session; Kelly and Mason

You know when you meet someone and you just know they get you.  You’re in sink from the first moment.  Kelly and Mason are my kinda people.  Easy laid back and totally utterly in love with each other.  They just melt into each other. There were several time I’m sure they forgot I was even there.  And Kelly’s style…oh yeah I think she went shopping in my closest!
After canceling our first date due to illness and horrible weather I was bummed.  But I’m so glad we did because the weather was perfect and Mason now actually wanted to kiss his beautiful bride!  Bonus!

Seriously so much fun hanging out with you guys!  Next time needs to include drinks! :)

Valentine’s Day Elopement, Jeanette and Paul

In a matter of hours Paul pulled together an officiant, location and a photographer to surprise his longtime girlfriend Jeaette with a wedding.  A wedding just the way the two wanted it.  Quiet and totally focused on them and why they were standing there that day.  To pledge their love for each other and unit in matrimony.

‘He did good.’  Jeanette had no idea about his plans.  He had asked her to marry him in the very spot they were married almost a year ago.  But plans for a wedding just keep hitting road blocks.  When all they really wanted was a quiet ceremony with just them.  So Paul made it happen on Valentine’s Day.

A Valentine’s Day elopement.  How could I pass on such a beautiful moment.  I was there within hours of Paul calling and felt so incredibly honored to be one of 4 people there.  Honored.  Jeanette you have the best laugh.  Seeing you light up just looking at Paul was magic.  Thank you so much for allowing me to be a part of your beautiful elopement.  You are both so blessed to have found someone that makes your heart sing.

xoxo – Rachael
