holga0022Who needs board games when there’s a holga around!  My hubby and I spent Christmas with his family in Wall, South Dakota. But only after they were snowed in for three days.  Literally snowed in.  We drove up the day after they opened the roads and were shocked at the amount of snow.

Our dog Champ and I had a great time walking around taking pictures and playing in the snow.

To shoot or not to shoot

In the slower months of winter, it can be difficult to keep motivated.  It’s cold outside, who would want to go out?  I have to say winter is not my favorite season, in fact it’s probably my lest favorite.  But I am motivating myself in this new year to get out there and photograph something everyday.  I tried this last year and did really pretty well until about April, then got to busy again.  But I think it really did help keep me focused and thinking as creatively as possible.

Happy 2010 everyone!  Here’s to making it the best year yet!

New York City

A few weeks ago a took a quick weekend trip to New York City with a bunch of women in my family, 10 to be exact.  Yea we travel in a pack.  It’s always interesting traveling with family, but we all had a great time.  And being we’re all from different areas of the country, (Minnesota, New York, Mass, D.C.) it was great to see some of the family I usually only see every three years.  And of course we all drank our fare share of wine.

Did I mention the weather was less then desirable.  It rained and was only about 35 degrees out.  Nice October weather.

The number of people on the street amazes me every time I visit NYC.  Where do they all come from?

I heart Central Park.  I could have spent the entire weekend there.

Happy Anniversary Baby!

September 30, 2009

This day three years ago I was a bride.  It was an absolutely gorgeous day, especially for being late September in Minnesota.  Slight chance of showers in the morning, but not a cloud in the sky by afternoon.  All the trees were turing beautiful shades of red, orange and gold.  And most importantly we had all our family there to par take in the biggest day of our young lives together.  I think I had a grin from ear to ear all day long.  I just couldn’t have been happier!

We’ve come so far since that day.  Bought a house and made it thru a MAJOR renovation, job loss and hours being cut.  But I wouldn’t change a thing.  I’ve learned so many things about myself as well as about each other together as a couple.  Cody has always been a rock for me.  But that doesn’t even begin to express what that has meant to me over the last three years.  He has always been there for me, cheering me on when I was scared sh*tless.  He always been supportive even when I had no idea what I wanted, which is often.  He does all the little projects I ask him to do, even when I’m pretty sure he doesn’t really want to.  And he works is butt off to make sure everything is taken care off.  And all with a smile on his face and love in his heart.  How did I get so lucky?  He picked the crazy, loud and opinionated women?  I am really the luckiest women.

Cody, I LOVE YOU WITH ALL MY HEART!

And because this is a photography blog, and Cody hates his photo taken…here’s a photo from our backyard.

Sweet Summer

August 21, 2009

The weather has been unbelievably gorgeous lately.  And well it couldn’t hurt to spend some time away from the computer outside enjoying it, summer is almost over.  The love the band-aides on this girl.  She was going as fast as she could, up and down the sidewalk.  That’s what summer is, playing like crazy until your covered in bumps and scraps.  Sweet summer.

I completely shot this from the hip, didn’t even look at it until it was up on my computer.  But I love it.

Get out and enjoy the rest of summer people!  Fall will be here before you know it.
