Project 52, Week 40. Happy Halloween!

Your Daddy and I are not ones to get excited about Halloween.  We don’t dress up and honestly I think your daddy would look at me like I’d lost my mind if I suggested a family costume.  But none the less, when you have a child there’s a certain level of expectation put on each holiday.   And if you don’t go along with the rest, you’re somehow missing out.  I do believe that as you get older we’ll find our own traditions and our own ways of celebrating the holidays, but Halloween is one I’m struggling to get behind.  I decided that finding a costume you may wear again might be the best way to go this year.  A tutu in your closet served as the base, add on $4 wings, and my crafting skills with a glue gun and WALLA! A fairy is born!  All week we’ve been working on wearing it longer then 5 minutes.  This morning you managed to wear it for about 30 minutes, so I’m counting that as a win!
You seem to have grown up over night lately.  All signs of baby are quickly disappearing and taking their place is a young girl.  You hands still get me teary eyed though.  How can such cute chubby little hands holding my finger tug at my heart so?  Every time you grab my hand on a walk or while reading books I close my eyes to soak it in.  Oh those little hands I will miss when they’re replaced with big girl hands.   But I do love seeing all the leaps your making these days.  We played pretend kitchen the other day for almost an hour.  Feeding your babies and having tea.  I could play with you for hours my love bug.  And your squeals when Daddy gets home are pretty much the best sounds in the world.

xoxo – Your Mama
