Recycled Wedding Details; The Maids

We’re all connected.
Connected to each other and this planet we call home.
I believe we can all do a little more to help protect Mother Nature and keep this planet looking beautiful and that goes for wedding planning!  Ebs and I came together to come up with ideas to recycle items and make a wedding just a little more green.  And maybe even save you a little green too.  Today’s detail is…
The Maids
How many bridesmaid dresses are sitting in your closet, worn once and someday will become a dress-up gown for your kids?  We all have them.  I remember thinking for my wedding, I wanted my maids to have dresses they’d actually wear again.  It didn’t quite work out that way, but I wish it had.  Nobody really wants to spend $150+ on a dress they’ll wear once.  So how about getting away from the bridal stores and into non-traditional wedding stores to find the prefect dresses?  Give your ladies a color to go with and let them find the perfect dress for them.  Something they’d wear again and LOVE.  Pair it with the guys in suits they picked out.
You can unify the look with a bouquet of a single matching color.

Lakewood Heritage Center Wedding, Vanessa & Marcos

Oh Man I am so excited to finally be sharing this unbelievable wedding!  Vanessa and Marcos there is just simply no words to say how much fun and how much I LOVED being a part of your wedding!
Vanessa thought of every detail for their wedding.  She teamed up with Touch of Bliss to pull off all the amazing details and at every turn I was in awe!  From little books written with their vows to chalkboard love notes from guests.  And don’t let the details distract from the the huge personalities both Vanessa and Marcos are.  A shot bar and dance moves made for the BEST party to end the season on.  Hands down.
So many photos to share…

Vanessa and Marco’s wedding was totally and completely THEM.  From the Lakewood Heritage Center, a place they’ve spent many hours walking, to the details and of course their wedding wouldn’t completely without a raging party!
Thanks guys for a FABULOUS way to end my season.  You guys are awesome!

Wedding Professional Love, Bare Root Flora

Excuse me if I gush a little to much love over these two ladies at Bare Root Flora.  I LOVE them!  They are so incredibly talented and seriously so fun to hang out with.  They can take a simple vision and turn it into something beyond spectacular.  Mind blowing really.
So when I decided to showcase other wedding professionals on the blog, my first thought was Bare Root!  No better place to start.  :)   So in their words a little about them.

‘Bare Root Flora was born from an absolute and abiding passion for flowers, weddings, true love, and the beauty of the ephemeral. We get so much joy out of our work–a true and tangible connection with our clients, the chance to see a couple’s connection to one another, the creativity of the design process, the hands-on work with amazing and incredible flowers, fruits, herbs and foliage…we couldn’t ask for more out of what we do each day!
If we could give one piece of advice to engaged couples, it would be to have a smaller wedding! We find that people often have too large of a wedding planned for the money they’ve budgeted and they end up having to sacrifice a lot more than they want. Having a smaller wedding allows couples to spend more on all the elements that are important to them while still staying within budget.’

Robyn and Diana you are treasures and I am so honored to work with you.  I can not wait to see where this journey takes you!

Handmade; A canvas handmade just for you

Everyone loves something handmade, at least I hope they do.  A gift that someone spent hours on, thinking about every detail.  Painstakingly pouring their heart into that gift.

No secret, I love handmade.  There’s just something in a handmade piece of art that a factory made trinket can’t come close to.  I’ve been searching for a handmade idea to share with my clients and I think I’ve found it.  A handmade canvas made by me.

And art piece to be enjoyed for years to come.  Truly something unique you won’t find at Target, your neighbors home or the online photo printing site.  This is art, art that reflects who you are and what’s important to you.  So elated to able to share something from my heart with my clients!  Different sizes and custom detailing available.  Handmade Canvas Art commissions start at $250.  I can’t wait to share more of these beauties!
