“I’m not very photo genetic.’  Sound familiar?  Well you’re not alone in the bad photography camp.  I believe everyone can be photo genetic if given an environment that’s relaxing, fun and a safe place for them to be themselves.  The bad photos happen when you’re thinking to hard about what the photo will look like.  Or you just freeze up and make the cheesemo smile.  And yea cheesemo is a word in my book.

It does take time to get to that feeling of comfort and you can just be yourself.  That’s why I feel an engagement session (couples session in my book) is so important.  It gives you and your photographer friend time to get to know each other.  Time to get familiar with the camera and what your photographer does behind it.  If you don’t have the luxury of doing a Couple’s Session then be sure to schedule extra time for the two of you on the wedding day.  Believe me it’ll be even harder to relax the day of.  There’s so many things happening and you constantly feel like you need to be somewhere.  Even if you had a Couple’s Session a little extra time the day of isn’t a bad thing at all.

Just relax and don’t over think it.  The best thing you can do is enjoy your partners company and love on each other.  Your photos will me amazing and you’ll look gorgeous!  Especially if you have an amazing photographer.  :-)

‘Photography is a way of feeling,

of touching, of loving.  What you have caught on film

is captured forever…

It remembers little things,

long after you have forgotten everything.’

WOW! Myka and Jeremiah’s wedding was amazing!  There were so many unusual details.  And the passion that they show for each other, their friends and family, and life is humbling.  If there was one word I could use to describe Myka it would be zen.  She just comfortable being who she is and enjoying all that life is, the good and bad.  I love the energy she has.   Their wedding was at the Star House outside of Boulder.  Which is an amazing setting, the smell of pine and wild flowers….ahh.   It was the perfect place for these two to tie the knot.

Myka even painted the painting at the alter.  Talented to say the least.

I’m in love with the oriental rugs in the aisle.  AWESOME!  I wanted to take one home with me.

Guest were greeted with a hand washing ceremony.  The water is scented with rose petals, and makes your hands smell so good.

Jeremiah has a 6 year old son name Owen.  This little guy was hilarious.  He LOVED having his picture taken and was glued to my hip!  I’d be shooting away and take the camera away from my eye and there he’d be right next to me smiling….waiting for his picture.

The guests all sang ‘Hallelujah’ as Myka walked down the aisle.  The love just filled the air and made me tear up too.

They both BELTED out ‘I DOOOOOOOO’ I love the passion they have!

I love the randomness of this photo.

Thank you so much Myka and Jeremiah for allowing me to be a part of your passion filled lives.  I’m forever changed by you.
