Why is film so different then digital?  Why do I swoon over it so much??  I can honestly say I love the anticipation of not knowing what’s really in the camera.  And I hate waiting for anything!  The excitement, even the smell of a lab makes me gitty.  I think I’ve spent to many hours in a darkroom.  Film captures light in such a different way then digital pixels do.  It almost feels there’s a rose colored glass over everything.  Everything’s so soft and radiant.

I can see the difference almost instantly, but can the average person?  Maybe, maybe not.  I’d love to hear your thoughts.  Is it just the nostalgia of film?

Thought I’d add in the photo of my Hubs and I.  He cleans up pretty good!

These next few are at the Walker Art Musuem.  And it really was this yellow and incredible views of Minneapolis.

While picking up my rental car the attended ask where I was headed.  I said Alex.  She says ‘ohhh well you’re going to need a bigger vehicle.  There was some flooding up there yesterday.  Let’s upgrade you.’  Awesome!  I spent the weekend driving around in a 2010 Jeep Cherokee.  I love Minnesota nice.  Turns out I didn’t really need a bigger vehicle.  It had rained hard, but nothing to warrant a jeep.  But hey I’ll take an upgrade anytime!

This was Minnesota trip number 3 for the year (I’m getting back to my roots  ;-) .   Erin is a good friend from college that I actually hadn’t seen since Cody and I were married almost 4 years ago!  Crazy how time fly’s and how much things change.  I was so excited to hear Erin was getting married to Mike.  They are so perfect together.  He’s so sweet with Erin and just let’s her exuberant personality shine.  Thank you so much for having shoot your wedding darling!  The day of the wedding started out beautiful, but almost like Colorado it started to cloud over by 2pm.  It rained for an hour just before the wedding.  But miraculously it cleared off with just enough time for the wedding to kick off on time!  And by 6pm it was an absolutely gorgeous evening.

Erin had this cute little peanut Brennen two years ago.  He is one lucky little boy to have such great parents!

And it really isn’t a good Midwestern wedding without stealing the bride and groom to go to the bars.

Mike is a firefighter.  (three cheers for all firemen out there!) He thought it’d be great to get some photos with him in his turn out gear.  Personally I love him stripping in the parking lot. :-)

LOVED being there for your big day hun!  I hope it won’t be 4 years again before we see each other.  LOVE YOU!

My baby brother tied the knot two weeks ago.  It’s still hard to believe he’s old enough and mature enough to marry someone.  But alas he met Krista.  And what a beautiful bride and women she is!  I’m so excited to have her as a sister!  Growing up with two brothers left me out number in to many ways.

Since I had a honor of serving as bridesmaid I didn’t have to be the main photographer.  I’m kinda happy about that too.  Instead of shooting digital I decided it would be fun to shoot old school Polaroid and Holga film.   I had so much fun doing just those, I think I should start offering Polaroid and Film only packages!  LOVE IT!  Congrats Nate and Krista!  Love you both!

I do have to give props to my hubby and cousin Hayley for taking ceremony photos.  That’s me in the middle.

I love the color variation from Polaroid to 120 film.

I did break out the digital after dark, when I’d ran out of film.  I absolutely love how the sparkler send off turned out!
