Botanic Garden Family Portrait, Dasler Family

How is possible to love two little boys when you just met them?  Their curly hair, the infectious laugh, the bright blue eyes.

When I first decided to start the venture of photography almost 5 years ago, I had no idea where to start.  But mothers always know how to help.  My mom offered to call a lady she knew that had a daughter in Denver. (I know crazy small town Minnesota connections)  And that daughter was Cheri.  She extactically let me into her and Nathaniel’s home that first year to photograph Devon when he was just 6 months old.  And now he’s a bright, loveable 4 year old with so much energy!  And they have one more to add to their adorable little family, little Vince.   These little boys captured my heart in an instant.

Nathaniel is such a great dad to watch in action.  And Devon just eats up the attention! The dynamics of family are so an amazing to photograph.   I just can’t get enough of them!

Apple Orchard Family portrait; The Carlsons’

‘Three things that make my life complete

Are love, laughter, and you, my sweet

The laughter has lasted since day one

Loving you darling, has ben so much fun.’

Kids will be kids.  Sometimes you can’t stop the laughter, other times it seems you can’t get them to laugh for anything.  Ben was incredible serious for our shoot.  No matter what I, Mom or Dad did, he was not crack’n a smile.  And that was that.  Jack on the other hand was little ham.  A very curious three year old with the brightest blue eyes!

I shot film and digital…can you tell which is which?

Fierce little man.

Newborn Photography, Evan William

I got a text from my friend Jennifer the other day saying ‘Euan’ William was here.  I thought YEA! Then went wait how do pronounce that?  Cody and I had a debate and decided it had to be like Uan.  A few days later I went to visit Jen and ‘Euan’ at home.  I was about to ask how do you pronounce his name, when Jen says ‘don’t text an hour after giving birth.  That’s how you miss spell your sons name.’  We both had a good laugh at that.  Nice Jen, that’s what your hubby should be doing!

We’ll be doing a whole family session shortly but I wanted to share a little from his birth announcement shoot.   I don’t get the chance to do newborn photography to often, but it’s such a blessing.  And mommy and daddy couldn’t be prouder of their beautiful little guy!  I can’t wait to watch him grow up!
