Couple’s Session, Holly and Seth

I adore Holly and Seth.  They are just so freak’n cute together!  Holly and Seth help me redesign and build my new website..kudos to them for doing an stellar job too!  And Holly is the face behind Mile High Bride.

Holly and Seth were married a year ago in August and we thought it would awesome to do a one year anniversary session.  Seth actually surprised Holly with it, such a good man.  :)   An evening session filled with cute personal props and home brewed beer…you just can’t get much better then that.  I actually hard a really hard time picking my favorites..good luck Holly and picking yours.  This is going to be a long post.

My top 2 fav of all.  How can you not love these two?SOO much fun!  Can we make this an annual thing guys?

Denver Athletic Club Wedding, Allison & Nick

Life can be complicated.  Families are complicated.  But when it comes down to two gorgeous people getting married we put aside our differences and come together to celebrate. And that’s exactly what Allison and Nick’s loved ones did.  They came together because Allison and Nick are in love.

Allison’s nickname as a child, given by her late father, was Allison Falls.  Well Nick’s last name is Falls.  I’d say that’s a match made in heaven.

Allison and Nick’s wedding pushed me professionally in that we had very little light to work with.  We were working against the clock. But I love how grainy and honest the photos are.  Allison and Nick are film students and their artsy personalities really shine through.  I’m so honored to be a part of such a beautiful union.

My uber talented second shooter Meghan caught these of the gents. I’m in love with this shot from Meghan…is that weird?  Seriously though it just has so much soul and personality.   ah Meg you’re awesome. Killer Holga shots.

Amazing team to work with!

Platte River Park Couples Session, Allison and Nick

Swoon.  I love these two and our couples session.  The pressure was on too, both Allison and Nick went to film school.  Talk about nerves.  But it was fun to have a couple that totally knew exactly the light I was going for.  Nick even mentioned, I have nice hair light don’t I?  Oh yes my friend you knew exactly what I want.  :)   These two cute kids met in film school, which I think is the best place to meet.  My hubs and I met in school over late nights in studio studying the same thing.  There’s no better place to find someone with common interest and a shared love of whatever it is you love.

Naturally we whipped out the old school cameras for their shoot.  I couldn’t resist an opportunity to bring a little personal significance into the images.  And I’m loving, and I mean LOVING the holga shots too.  Just gorgeous light and location for an adorable couple.  Can’t wait for your August wedding!  It’s going to be stellar!

Breath of Fresh Air

‘Photography for me is not looking, it’s feeling.

If you can’t feel what you’re looking at,

then you’re never going to get others to feel anything when they look at your pictures.’

-Don McCullin

Sometimes things in your backyard, things you’ve seen a million times, can look different.  Especially when you stop and look through the lens.

I’ve finally decided to bite the bullet and have a custom website done.  ‘But you just did your website’ says my husband.  But it’s just not me.  No templates are, no matter what logo or color I put into them.  It’s not me.  I want to sing from the mountains who I am.  What my photography is and why I think it’s important.  I believe it’s so incredible important to put out into the universe what you want to get back.   So here it goes universe…watch out!

Just as many photographers know the winter months are a time to reassess, shot for yourself, and try new things. And I’m no different. I love playing with film. It’s so dramatic compared to digital. The film of choice for the moment is slide film in the holga. mmm I really like slide film. Even more then negative film. Enjoy my lovely readers!
